Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Family Tracker - Zippir collects, uses, and stores information when you use the app.

Information we collect

  • Device information that you provide or configure, such as a device name and device code.
  • App settings stored on your device, such as tracking status, tracking profile, and language preference.
  • Location information, including precise foreground and background location and recent location history, when tracking is enabled and you grant the required Android or iOS permissions.
  • Technical identifiers used to keep the app working, such as an anonymous Firebase authentication ID and an app-generated device ID.
  • Advertising and consent signals used by Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform, such as ad request data, consent choices, and limited technical identifiers needed to show and measure ads.

How we use information

  • To let paired devices share live location and recent last-seen information.
  • To support device pairing through unique device codes.
  • To store and sync core app settings across the live tracking experience.
  • To maintain service reliability and basic app functionality.
  • To show ads, manage ad consent, and support ad measurement where permitted by your choices and applicable law.

How location sharing works

Location is collected only when tracking is enabled on a device and the required permissions are granted. On iOS, this may include background location access when the user grants Always Location permission. Devices that you explicitly pair using a device code may view the location information associated with that device.

Third-party services

The app uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, to support device identity, syncing, and location-related data storage. The app may also use Google Mobile Ads to show ads and Google User Messaging Platform to request and manage advertising-related privacy choices.

Data retention

The app is designed to show recent location history and last-seen information. Location history is intended to be retained for about seven days through the expiresAt field and backend retention settings. Device records, pairing links, and device codes may remain stored while they are needed to provide the app's core pairing and tracking features.

Your choices

  • You can turn tracking on or off in the app settings.
  • You can change your device name and regenerate your device code.
  • You can revoke location, background location, or notification permissions from your device settings at any time.
  • Where available, you can manage advertising privacy choices from the app's privacy options entry point or your device privacy settings.

Children's privacy

If you make the app available to children, make sure location sharing is used only with appropriate consent and according to the laws and regulations that apply in your region.
